The Ramstein Tax Center will open on Feb. 16 to provide services to active duty service members and civilian employees with SOFA status, as well as their dependents. Please understand that priority will be given to active duty Air Force personnel. Due to limitations required in response to COVID-19, all tax assistance will be conducted virtually by appointment.
We have trained professionals and qualified volunteers to file your taxes for you with the latest IRS-approved tax assistance software. We provide this service free of charge.
All U.S. citizens are required to file and report their income every year. Many filers are entitled to a refund and the sooner you file, the sooner you get that money back into your pocket. The deadline for filing taxes is April 15, however, for active duty military members serving overseas, the Federal government provides an automatic filing extension until June 15. However, if you owe money, interest will begin being charged on the April 15. The Ramstein Tax Center will be here to support you through the full tax season.

To prepare for filing, you should gather the following: photo ID; Social Security cards for you, your spouse and all children or dependents; Individual Tax Identification Number (ITIN) if applicable; W-2, 1099-R, 1099-MISC; Interest and Dividend statements; total paid to daycare providers with their tax ID; educational expenses; proof of additional income or deductible expenses; power of attorney if your spouse will not be available to sign the tax return; bank routing number and account number (for tax refund/payment).

The Ramstein Tax Center is located in building 2137, across from the Ramstein Southside Fitness Center. We are co-located with the Ramstein Law Center.
