Monday, TKS will initiate a series of technical upgrades to the head-end receiving station located on Ramstein. As a result, the normal broadcast of TKS Cable channels within the KMC area will be interrupted. The upgrades will improve the reception and picture quality of TKS cable channels and will also make cable TV reception compatible over a broader range of television devices.
TKS Cable TV channels and the Commander Information Channel will be interrupted starting at 8 a.m. Monday. There will be no reception of those channels in Ramstein, Landstuhl, Vogelweh, Rhine Ordnance Barracks, Daenner/Kleber Kaserne and Flieger/Blutacker Strasse.
All TKS channels will be restored by 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, there may be some isolated short-term interruptions of some individual channels while technicians run tests and perform diagnostics on the KMC’s cable TV network.
When all of the upgrades have been completed, viewers will be required to retune their television set in order to once again recapture all of the TKS channels.
If there is an isolated reception problem after 5 p.m Thursday, viewers should report the situation to the nearest KMC TKS Shop or call 01804-857-762.
NOTE: There will be no effect to AFN television channels or to TKS Cable Highspeed Internet service. TKS technicians will implement an interim connection so that AFN channels will continue to be broadcast uninterrupted during the entire operation.
