TRICARE has introduced My Military Health – Scheduled Virtual Visits, a new platform designed to enhance virtual healthcare accessibility for military beneficiaries. This initiative aims to provide a flexible, secure, and user-friendly experience, allowing patients to connect with their healthcare providers from any location.
Platform transition
My Military Health – Scheduled Virtual Visits has replaced the MHS Video Connect platform. Despite this transition, the process for requesting and joining virtual video visits remains unchanged, ensuring continuity and ease of use for patients.
Key Features
Convenient Access: Patients can schedule and attend virtual video appointments using a smartphone, tablet, or computer equipped with a camera and speaker, along with a stable internet connection.
Appointment Reminders: To help patients prepare, reminder emails and text messages are sent 24 hours and 30 minutes prior to the scheduled appointment time. Additionally, patients can join their virtual visit directly from the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal up to 30 minutes before the appointment, eliminating the need for extra logins or app downloads.
Integrated Health Records: All documentation from virtual visits is securely stored in the patient’s medical records within MHS GENESIS, ensuring comprehensive and coordinated care.
Scheduling a Virtual Visit
To arrange a virtual video appointment, patients should contact their local military treatment facility or use the appointment line. It’s important to confirm that the medical concern is suitable for a virtual visit and that the preferred healthcare provider is available for such appointments.
