TWK contract to provide water

***image1***Beginning this month, Technische Werke Kaiserslautern assumes full responsibility of the water distribution system up to the delivery points, which are the water meters installed in the individual buildings located at Vogelweh Military Family Housing, Vogelweh Community Center, Kapaun Barracks, and Rod and Gun Club Area.

TWK is the sole source water supplier in the Kaiserslautern area.
An estimated 550,000 cubic meters of drinking water will be delivered through a 27-km network every year, guaranteeing enough water for human consumption and fire-fighting purposes. 

The Kaiserslautern West water delivery contract negotiations concluded with TWK in August and a contract was signed in September to meet the one month phasing period starting Oct. 1.  The water contract covers an initial 10-year period with four 10-year options from Oct. 1 through Sept. 30, 2057.

The operation, maintenance and replacement of plant equipment are included in the contract.
