What’s the best way to get to know your new town? Listening closely while you walk around! The City of Kaiserslautern is offering a series of old and new discovery tours around the town in English. Tours included Casimir Saal and the underground tunnels, the hidden history of Kaiserslautern’s breweries, a guided historical walk, a guided cemetery tour, K-Town for kids, Hohenecken castle and special events during the holiday season. Individual tours for groups can also be arranged. Wine fair in a football stadium? Yes, of course, that works! In Kaiserslautern on Betzenberg, in the VIP level 1900 – an experience for all senses! Over 40 wineries are looking forward to welcoming you! Visitors can expect an incomparable culinary experience. Whether velvety-soft red wines, fruity white wines or exciting new discoveries from small, up-and-coming wineries: there are no limits to the variety during the wine fair on Betzenberg. If you are interested in the history behind the wine or just want competent advice, numerous wineries are there to help. Experts are also happy to offer wine beginners an introduction to the world of wine.

STREET FOOD FESTIVAL

APRIL 5–6, 12 A.M.–10 P.M., FRITZ-WALTER-STADION, KAISERSLAUTERN

New culinary discoveries and soul food at its best at the Street Food Festival in Kaiserslautern.

The Street Food Festival brings a large selection of delicacies to the stadium and welcomes the first rays of spring with a variety of delights. With over 25 stalls and a large selection of street food classics, such as smash burgers and crispy churros to unusual burger variations with confit duck or steamed baozis, there is something for every taste. The focus is on handmade dishes without industrially produced finished products, which visitors can watch being prepared in real time. There is also the opportunity to award a prize to the most popular street food providers. On Sunday, Apr. 6, the gates open from 12 a.m. to 8 p.m.

DORFFLOHMARKT (VILLAGE FLEA MARKET)

APRIL. 6, 1–4 P.M., SEMBACH

Get ready for “spring cleaning” all around the village while it turns into one big flea market. There will be garage sales and tables in front yards, food and drinks will be offered at Mehrzweckhalle. Sembachers: Check your mailboxes for flyers with further information and exact locations.

The fairground will transform into a colorful fairground at the Speyer trade fairs. In addition to a large number of attractive rides, visitors can expect a wealth of culinary offerings. Experience a family-friendly ride on the Ferris wheel. The rides and the automatic scooter offer fun for all ages. If you are looking for a thrill, we recommend a ride on the high-flying attraction. In addition to numerous shops that will make children’s hearts beat faster, an amusement park will ensure lots of fun and good humor. There are also many opportunities to prove your own skills at the ball/arrow throwing, lottery and ring throwing shops or with fishing games and shooting carts. The beer gardens and snack bars invite you to linger. For dessert, there are candy, ice cream and crêpe carts with lots of options for snacking.

MOUNTAIN BIKE TOUR

APRIL 6, 10 A.M., BAHNHOF, WINNWEILER

Time to pedal the medal and participate in the first mountain bike tour of the season while experiencing the unique landscapt around Donnersberg! Tourguides will lead mountain bikers and conduct technique training, so also ideal for beginners. The tour starts in Winnweiler, heads towards Imsbach and Falkenstein, then circles back to Winnweiler on a 20-kilometer route with 400 meters altitude. Various stands have been announced, presenting a wide range of products in front of the tourist information office at Endertplatz and Carlfritz-Nicolay-Platz. The Easter market will shine in a sea of ​​colors and spring awakening! Experience the fragrance of freshly baked treats and the stands full of creative handicrafts – from artfully painted Easter eggs to cheerful spring flowers that transform the market into a paradise for all senses. The air is filled with laughter, music and the anticipation of the coming spring season. On April 12 and 13 Cochem will be all about the blossoming of the MoselWeinbergPfirsich (Moselle vineyard peach) when a flower market takes place at Endertplatz. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., the stalls will offer a wide variety of products such as tea, spreads, liqueurs, chocolates and other delicacies made from this delicious fruit, which you can taste to your heart’s content.

The German-French Farmers’ Market offers you a very special shopping experience from 11 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. What unites Palatinate people and their neighbors from Alsace is the love of enjoyment. We appreciate good wine, great times together and good food. It’s not surprising that they want to combine culinary delights of the regions. It’s all about the mix! Regional products from the Palatinate and culinary highlights from neighboring France make the gourmet market one of the most exciting in the region. Here you will find local products, regional produce and short transport this is more important today than ever before. There will be a huge selection of spicy smoked trout, French delicacies such as cakes, pastries, jams and goat cheese specialties as well as regional specialties.
