The guided tour includes a visit inside the Casimir Saal, located just below the City Hall. It is approximately 1.5 hours and leads through the underground illuminated tunnel with information and sound effects about the history of Kaiserslautern. TIME TRAVEL – VIRTUAL REALITY TOUR
APRIL 14, 2.30/4.30 P.M., OTTERBERG
Experience a unique tour that brings history to life in a fascinating way. This covered wagon tour takes you through the monastery in Otterberg on a rustic horse-drawn covered wagon. Using virtual reality goggles, participants immerse themselves in times long past: from the time of the monastery in 1254 to the Walloon town in 1615. The wind in your face, the jerking of the wagon and the clattering of the horses’ hooves allow you to immerse yourself in those times. The highlight of the tour is the atmosphere of the imposing Otterberg Abbey Church with its exciting history. Here, participants experience history live – no longer virtually, but with the real, massive, yellow sandstones that characterize this building. FIELD SERVICE WITH MOTORCYCLE BLESSING

The Reservist Association Westpfalz are organizing a field service with a German style barbecue, drinks, and coffee and cake in the afternoon. During the service motorcycles and their riders will be blessed. The event is also under the motto “We who served” and U.S. veterans, active-duty members and families are invited to attend, whether biker or not. Sixty-four vendors will present plants and flowers for garden lovers, handcrafted items out of clay, wood, stone, metal, textile and paper. There will be an information booth about wild bees, culinary delights, a children’s program and the monastery herb and flower garden (behind the church) will be open for visitors. There will be an organ concert at 12:30 a.m., the Blue Light Band Band of the Polizei Presidium Ludwigshafen will perform at 4 p.m., and Günther Mannweiler will entertain visitors with music in the historic district.
