DEIDESHEIMER WEINKERWE (WINE FESTIVAL)

Enjoy a wine festival with cult status! This wine festival is an absolute highlight during the wine festival season and a must for all wine lovers. On two weekends everything in the picturesque town revolves around culture, art and wine-related delights. Experience the Palatinate way of life with fine-tuned regional classics in cozy courtyards overhung with grapevines.
FANTASY AND MEDIEVAL MARKET
AUG. 15 – 18, DEUTSCH-FRANZÖSCHER GARTEN, SAARBRÜCKEN
Participants from all over Europe will be meeting at the the German-French Garten for four days to celebrate the 14th Fantasy and Medieval Days (PMT 2024). Peter Pan will tell tales, there will be over 120 dealers and craftsmen with traditional goods. The programm includes jugglers, dancers, musicians, magicians and story tellers. There will be special childrens‘ activities, a mermaid and a pirate setting. Fans of fencing will have the chance to experience fencing fights and fire shows. Shows on Thursday, Friday and Saturday include popular folk music groups and “FAUN” presenting a world of fairy tales and myths. There will be plenty of regional and traditional delicacies along with Mett and self-brewed beer.

HOFFEST (COURTYARD FEST)
AUG. 17 – 18, LAMBSBORN/NEAR BRUCHMÜHLBACH-MIESAU
Every second year the association “Hoffest Hilft Helfen” (Hoffest helps helping) in Lambsborn invites visitors to its fest with live music, farmers’ and artisan market, cheerful children’s program and regional specialties. Kick-off will be on Saturday at 9:30 p.m. with the popular band “Take Five”, the bar in the old cow’s barn will be open for cocktails and more. An open-air church service will take place on Sunday, followed by live music until late evening. The event will be rounded off by Heiko Ecker, participant of the world grill championship. There will be special highlights for kids: A bouncy castle, a clown theater and if they have any injured stuffed animals they can take them to the “Teddy clinic” for treatment. Proceeds will go towards a charitable cause, plenty of parking space is available with directions posted. Come out and enjoy a special fest in the closer vicinity!

Once again, the Musikverein is organizing an exciting village event for young and old. There will be live music, food and beverages, a trampoline and games for kids, a parade through town on Sunday afternoon, typically with a U.S. fire truck. The highlight will be a music performance by a popular German band and German-American guest singer Yasmin on Monday evening, followed by fireworks. So, Sembachers get out there and celebrate with your German neighbors!
STADTJUBILÄUM KIBO (CITY ANNIVERSARY)
AUG. 23 – 25, CITY CENTER, KIRCHHEIMBOLANDEN
The City of Kircheimbolanden is celebrating its 1250th anniversary with a large festival. The area will be alive with games, climbing courses, bouncy castles and hands-on activities for young and old, such as the “Mascot Meeting.” The open-air concert with the U.S. Forces in Europe/Air Forces Africa big band “The Ambassadors” will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. Food and beverages are provided throughout the event. Entry to the arena is free on Sunday. On Saturday, Aug. 24, German pop stars Nico Santos and Michael Schulte will perform.
MIDDLE MOSELLE WINE FESTIVAL
AUG. 29 – SEP. 2, BERNKASTEL-KUES
It’s not just in the Palatinate that people know how to properly celebrate the vine juice, the wine festivals are also a constant companion on the Moselle and attract you to the region in late summer. This was also the case at the end of August at the Middle Moselle Wine Festival in the charming wine town of Bernkastel-Kues, famous for its picturesque market square with ancient half-timbered houses. Thanks to the festival program with a parade, live acts, evening events and a fireworks festival, you can enjoy five days of festivities. In addition, countless fine or hearty dishes are served, while bands and music clubs create the right atmosphere with their traditional or modern sounds – a real blast and the festival ends with fireworks.
WINE FESTIVAL BINGEN
AUG. 30 – SEP. 9, BINGEN/RHEIN
Another Rheinhessen-awarded event is the Bingen Wine Festival at the apex of the Rhein and Nahe Rivers, which offers you products from the local wineries at the beginning of September. For 11 days, the people of Bingen celebrate the artistry of their winemakers, making it the longest wine festival along the Rhein! The extensive program makes time fly: there is live music every day, several fireworks light up both Klopp Castle and the banks of the Nahe, the traditional parade rolls leisurely and yet sublimely through the city center, the amusement park near Hindenburg comples attracts fun and adventure. In addition to Rhein-Hessian specialties on the market, an excellent multi-course menu is also served at the wine festival wine tasting. It is one of the largest open-air wine tastings in Rheinhessen and you’ll have plenty of opportunities to discover your new favorite wine.
