GERMAN-AMERICAN FRIENDSHIP FESTIVAL

JUNE 9-11, JOHN F. KENNEDY PLATZ, RAMSTEIN

Enjoy a weekend of German-American friendship with food and beverages from both counties, live music on the open-air stage for three days and fun for the whole family. The opening act on Friday will be the United States Army Europe & Africa Band & Chorus, to be followed by “From Da Soul” group. The event is sponsored by the state program “Welcome to Rheinland-Pfalz”. The German-American Stammtisch was also have a reserved table at the event.

OPEN-AIR CONCERTS AT GELTERSWOOG

SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS, KAISERSLAUTERN

The minigolf park at Gelterswoog offers concerts in varying styles every Saturday and Sunday during the summer. Some concerts are also planned on Friday evenings, check their Facebook page for details and times.

STROHHUTFEST (CITY FESTIVAL)

JUNE 8-11, CITY CENTER, FRANKENTHAL

Join the fun at the Straw Hat festival with family fun, food and drinks, musical entertainment and lots of straw hats. The event ends with a fun run through the city on Sunday, June 11.

SEEWOOGFEST

JUNE 16-18, SEEWOOG, MIESENBACH

The festival starts on Friday evening. Great music entertainment is guaranteed. A large offer of food and beverages is available throughout the festival weekend. Free entrance on all three days! The Miesenbach Entertainment Club “UVM” is looking forward to welcoming you and your family!

LANGE NACHT DER KULTUR (NIGHT OF CULTURE)

JUNE 17, CITY CENTER, KAISERSLAUTERN

The long night of culture is one of the top highlights in Rheinland-Pfalz. There will be numerous events at over 25 sites throughout the city center. The night includes over 100 events from children’s activities on the afternoon to features into the wee hours of the morning. Events will take place in the Fruchthalle, Pfalztheater, museums, SWR radio studio, churches, movie theaters, the Japanese Garden and open-air stages around the city center. CULINARY HIKE

JUNE 18, 10 A.M.-6 P.M., HEIMKIRCHEN/NIEDERKIRCHEN

The circular path of 5.5 km (3.4 miles) leads through the fields and meadows of Heimkirchen and offers wonderful rural views. Along the signposted trail, culinary specialties are provided at 8 resting places. Experience a large variety of the Palatinate cuisine and culinary dishes along the scenic landscape of Heimkirchen. Entertainment for kids and adults is offered, too. The route goes past the huge sundial that was built in 2020 and consists of twelve sandstone obelisks. Trail hikers can also stop at the farm museum at Holbornerhof, a historic landmark. Ancient equipment and tools give great insight into what farmers´ lives looked like in the past. Parking is recommended along the country road between Niederkirchen and Heimkirchen.

15. KAISERSLAUTERN CLASSICS – FASCINATION OLDTIMERS

JUNE 24, 10 A.M.-6 P.M., PEDESTRIAN AREA, KAISERSLAUTERN

Shining chrome, curved lines, big eyes – Kaiserslautern’s classics are back in the city! Enjoy old timers, young timers, motorcycles and commercial vehicles, which will fascinate automobile and nostalgia fans alike. Enjoy automobile history in the city center and combine your visit with a shopping spree with an ice-cream dish or coffee break.

SECOND ANNUAL KAISERSLAUTERN COUNTY FAMILY DAY

JUNE 24, CONGRESS CENTER, RAMSTEIN-MIESENBACH

The Union Community of Ramstein-Miesenbach and the County of Kaiserslautern are organizing a day revolving around family, leisure and tourism. There will be indoor and outdoor displays, musical entertainment and lots of fun activities for kids.

TOUR IN ENGLISH, SICKINGEN AND NANSTEIN CASTLE

JUNE 25, 10 A.M., CANNON TOWER, CASTLE LANDSTUHL

The certified tourist guide Ulli Heist will offer a tour around Nanstein Castle “The Last Knight Franz von Sickingen and Nanstein Castle”. Learn about more than 500 years of history of the castle and hear stories about the last knight. In 2023 the city of Landstuhl is commemorating the 500th memorial of his death who died at Nanstein Castle in 1523. In good weather, visitors have a great view and they can get some additional information about the city (Landstuhl) in the valley. Registration is not required. The tour starts at 10 a.m. and lasts about 90 minutes. Meeting point for the tour is the cannon tower of the castle next to the parking lot.
