The following is a joint message from Commander, U.S. Air Forces in Europe Gen. William T. Hobbins and USAFE Command Chief Master Sergeant Gary G. Coleman.
“With the holiday season upon us, Chief Coleman and I would like to express our sincere thanks to each Airman, family member and civilian employee within this command for your hard work, dedication and selfless sacrifice.
“Take time to remember our brave Airmen deployed throughout the world in support of the global war on terrorism. Their numbers are significant. At this moment there are more than 2,300 USAFE Airmen deployed in that fight.
“And don’t forget to care for the needs of their family members who remain at home station this holiday season. Their sacrifices seldom receive the level of attention as servicemembers engaged against an enemy before eyes of worldwide media, but their sacrifice is significant and should never be forgotten.
“We are proud of each of you and feel privileged to be a part of this great command. We wish you happy holidays and a great New Year.”
