Do you want more money in your paycheck each month for utilities?
Well, here’s your chance to make a difference. The annual Overseas Housing Allowance Utility and Move in Expenses survey for uniformed U.S. service members will be conducted from March 18 through April 17 in Germany.
The information provided on that survey is used to update Overseas Housing Allowance utility/recurring maintenance.
The rates are based on the typical costs incurred by service members living in countries outside the continental United States who live off-post or base, have a private lease and receive an Overseas Housing Allowance.
Because of a strong response rate last year, the Department of Defense was able to gather enough data to support an increase of 31 percent in utility allowance for Germany.
Currently the utility allowance in Germany is €543 per month for a military member with dependents and €407.25 per month for a single member.
For another increase to occur this year, we need maximum participation from all service members living in Germany. The survey will open on March 18 and can be accessed at www.perdiem.osd.mil/oha/survey/maroha.html.
