Monday to April 24 has been designated Volunteer Appreciation Week. This year’s theme is “Celebrating People in Action” and we will be honoring KMC volunteers – ordinary people who accomplish extraordinary things through their service.
The Ramstein Airman & Family Readiness Center and several community partners will be recognizing volunteers with a week of activities especially for them.
From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, there will be a “Celebration Station” appreciation booth at the Ramstein Base Exchange, which will include entertainment and free gifts.
From 8 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, the 37th Airlift Squadron is offering a tour of a C-130 aircraft to the first 10 volunteers who sign up. To sign up, call 478-0397.
Also on Tuesday, the Ramstein Bowling Center will provide free games of bowling to the first six volunteers to visit the A&FRC to obtain a bowling pass.
On Wednesday, the A&FRC will conduct a resume writing class specifically designed to enhance volunteerism correlating to work experience. There will also be an appreciation and recruitment for the Youth Employment Skills volunteer program at Vogelweh at 5:30 p.m. and Ramstein at 6 p.m.
On Thursday, the first 20 volunteers who sign up will receive a tour of the Outdoor Recreation Center and rock wall in the new Kaiserslautern Military Community Center.
On April 24, The Sexual Assault Response Coordinator will host two showings of the movie “The Accused.” The first showing will be 11:30 a.m. and the second at 2 p.m. Both showings will be in the U.S. Air Forces in Europe Conference Center and are open to the public.
