The following is a list of performances and events happening in the KMC and nearby locations. Dates are subject to change.

Freibad Waschmuehle (pictured above) in Kaiserslautern, Morlauterer Strasse, is not heated. It has one big basin that is 165 meters long and 45 meters wide. It is known to be one of the biggest swimming basins in Europe. Opening hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, except for Tuesdays when it opens at noon. Tickets cost €2.90 for adults and €1.50 for children.

Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern:
• Summer break until September.
• A theater fest scheduled for Sept. 9 starts the new 2016-2017 play season.

• Summer break through Sept. 2.
• Display of paintings, photos and mixed-media presentations, Sept. 3 through 24. Admission is free.

Kaiserslautern, Volkspark (duck pond at corner of Entersweiler-/Donnersberger Strasse):
• Outdoor concert with 18 members of the Einselthum Music Friends presenting renowned melodies, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free. Snacks and beverages are available in bistro. Children’s adventure playground is next to the blue music pavilion.


Kaiserslautern, Bremerhof beergarden, Bremerhof 1:
• Piano Soul Bar & Friends present final outdoor concert with rock and jazz as well as musical songs, 7 p.m. Thursday. Admission is free.

Ramstein-Miesenbach, stage in front of Rathaus:
• Ramstein’s Summer Nights presents: Brazilian Night with band Mundo Latino performing their Viva Brazil dance show, 8 p.m. today; and African Night with Voodoo Beat featuring Djembe Africa, 8 p.m. Aug. 26. Admission to all outdoor performances is free.

Bildhaus Musikclub Ventil, Hahnbacherhof 2, 67701 Schallodenbach:
• The band Jam Planet presents a mix of songs from the last 60 years, 8:30 p.m. Saturday. The park and gallery is open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.

• “The Picture of Dorian Gray,” a Gothic tale by Oscar Wilde, starts Sept. 1.

Special events: Protestant worship service with music, 11 a.m. Sunday in willow church; music in the park with the FH Big Band presenting a repertory of swing, rock and funk, 2:30 p.m. on the open-air stage; the children’s tent opens for games and crafting, 2 to 5 p.m. daily through Aug. 28 in Neumuehlepark; the flower show, “Fabulous Fairytale,” open through Aug. 28 in flower hall, and Lego display open through Oct. 31 in exhibition hall.
