Fasching parade in Pirmasens
For the third time, a Fasching parade in Pirmasens will take place Sunday. It starts at 1:11 p.m. on the street Im Erlenteich and leads to Messplatz, where a stage will be set up. A disc jockey and bands will provide the musical entertainment. Food and beverage booths will be available.

The following is a list of performances and events happening in the KMC and nearby locations. Dates are subject to change.

Performing arts:

Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern:

• “Die Perlenfischer,” an opera by Goerges Bizet, in French, 7:30 p.m. today, Tuesday, Feb. 22 and March 4 and 16, and 3 p.m. March 19.

• “Die Csardasfuerstin,” an operetta by Emmerich Kalman, in German, 7:30 p.m. Saturday, and 6 p.m. March 12.

• Second family concert features works by Robert Schumann and Johannes Brahms, 4 p.m. Sunday.

• “Dance 1: Same Time Tomorrow,” a dance night by James Sutherland, 8 p.m. Sunday, Wednesday and Feb. 23.

• “Komoedie im Dunkeln,” comedy in the dark, a play by Peter Shaffer, in German, 7:30 p.m. Feb. 17 and March 3 and 10.

• “Die Physiker,” a play by Friedrich Duerrenmatt, in German, 7:30 p.m. Feb.18.

• “Haensel und Gretel,” a fairy tale play by Engelbert Humperdinck, in German, 6 p.m. Feb. 19.

• “Dogville,” a play by Lars von Trier, in German, 7:30 p.m. Feb. 25 and March 1 and 15, and 6 p.m. March 5 and 26.

• Fourth chamber concert: “4+4=Oktett,” with works by Franz Schubert, Dimitri Schostakowitsch and Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, 11 a.m. Feb. 26.

Dance night
Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern presents “Dance 1: Same Time Tomorrow,” a dance night by James Sutherland at 8 p.m. Saturday, Wednesday and Feb. 23. First five female followed by five male dancers dance to the question, “What I really want to know is: Are things getting better or are they getting worse?” It is a gender experiment on stage.
