Mannheim’s Luisenpark presents winter lights
Luisenpark in Mannheim presents “Winter Lights” through Feb. 26. Trees, bushes, bridges, statues, fountains and other objects are illuminated from 6 to 9 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays, and 6 to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Two illuminated routes lead through the park passing a fountain area where food will be offered. Visitors can admire flying light objects, twinkling items and projections on walls and water surfaces. Admission fee is €6 for adults and €3 for children. The main entrance is at Theodor-Heuss-Anlage 2 in Mannheim.

Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern:

• “Komoedie im Dunkeln,” comedy in the dark, a play by Peter Shaffer, in German, 7:30 p.m. Saturday and Feb. 17, and 6 p.m. Feb. 5.

• “Die Perlenfischer,” an opera by Goerges Bizet, in French, 7:30 p.m. Feb. 4, 8 10, 14 and 22.

Kaiserslautern, Gartenschau event hall, ice-skating rink open through Feb. 11. Daily skating hours are from 9 a.m. to noon, 1 to 3 p.m., 4 to 6 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. On Friday and Saturday nights, skating hours are extended until 10 p.m. Admission fee is €2.50 for children and €3.50 for adults. Kaiserslautern, Pfalzbibliothek (Palatinate library), Bismarckstrasse 17, exhibition “Cadillacs and Fasching,” displays the U.S. participation in Fasching events since 1950. Ice skating with DJ
The ice skating-rink in the event hall of Kaiserslautern’s Gartenschau offers the Big FM Ice Night with a new disc jockey from 7 to 10 p.m. Feb. 3. Each day, the mobile ice-skating rink is open from 9 a.m. to noon, 1 to 3 p.m., and 7 to 9 p.m. Skating hours are extended until 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Admission fee is €3.50 for adults and €2.50 for children. Rental fee for skates is €3.50. Penguin training aids are €2 per hour. For more information, visit www.kl-on-ice.de.
