Weilerbach’s wine village will open for the third time from 6 p.m. to midnight today and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to
6 p.m. Sunday.
“We’ll set up the event at the new and beautiful village square, which, with its water games, is the right location for a wine village,” said Christopher Molter from the organizing event team. “This village square in the center of Weilerbach has turned into a popular meeting point for local happenings.“
Six selected vintners from wine-growing regions in the Pfalz and Rheinhessen will present their best wines. Caterers will serve various culinary delights such as “Spiessbraten,” or “spit roast,” salmon from the Finnish cota grill, Pfalz burgers and tarte flambee. Sweet specialties include crepes and dampfnudeln, yeast dumplings served with vanilla or wine sauce.
“But besides good wines and delicious food, we would like to offer the right music,” Molter said.
Tonight, the band Hoselatz will entertain visitors from
6 p.m. to midnight. Saturday, the Rodenbach Music Association will present a concert at 6 p.m. The official opening of the event with music by fanfare players and the Palatinate Wine Queen, Nicole Fredrich, will follow at 7:30 p.m. The band The Twins will play at 8 p.m. asking the audience to swing their hips.
On Sunday, Weilerbach’s wine village will start serving delicacies and wines at 11 a.m. The band Dressinger will begin its performance at 2 p.m.
“The Weilerbach community, participating vintners, caterers and clubs are looking forward to welcoming all visitors to this three-day celebration,” Molter said.
